QWAK,what's in a NAME?

QWAK,Some cultures concider a NAME extreamly importand as it can alter how a child percieves them selves and defines them self in their own minds.

Some times we pick up NICK NAMES which others tend to place on us, often to our frustration even ANGER! In Nam I got nick named "WARLOCK" just for being ME and talking about THINGS that others generly do not even think about. I diden't like being called Warlock but did have FUN with it, messing with a lot of other peoples heads!:proud: :haha:

When I first started posting on the net I picked the name UGLY DUCK because it just seemed to fit my situation living out in the boonies in a log cabin.

When I came to GIM I chose GOLD DUCK because that seemed more apropriate here.

When WE get to NAME and DEFINE who we are we also change our WORLD because we chose to project our selves in our own way rather than what others have chosen for us.

"Ynot DUCK" or "the DUCK" is sort of the question here.

What a noval and interisting way to threw free will chose to TURN a CORNER ie.direction in ones life!

When we change our minds lots of things change because WE relate to them diferently and I supose that would of corse in clude PEOPLE and NAMES! HUMmmmmmmm

That's MY ponder for today:proud:

the DUCK/Ynot DUCK ?

I posted an image of my favourite animated warlock: Frylock. "Frylock is a character in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. He is a red box of French fries...He is the most intellectual of the ATHF characters, and also attempts to provide the others with some sense of morality."

Quote:

In Viking societies, many people had nicknames heiti, viðrnefni or uppnefi which were used in addition to, or instead of their family names. In some circumstances the giving of a nickname had a special status in Viking society in that it created a relationship between the name maker and the recipient of the nickname, to the extent that the creation of a nickname also often entailed a formal ceremony and an exchange of gifts.

A young member of an American indian tribe goes to the tribal Chief:
"Chief, how do we get out names?"

Chief:
"Your father was named Standing Buffalo because that was the first this his father saw when he was born.
"Your mother was named Little Dove because that was the first thing her father saw when she was born".
"Why do you ask Two Dogs Humping?"
